ਸਿੱਖ ਕੌਮ ਦੇ ਮਹਾਨ ਜਰਨੈਲ ਸਰਦਾਰ ਸ਼ਾਮ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਅਟਾਰੀ,ਮਹਾਰਾਜਾ ਰਣਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਸਮੇਂ ਦੇ ਮਹਾਨ ਜਰਨੈਲ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ। ਜਦੋਂ ਮਹਾਰਾਜਾ ਰਣਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਅਕਾਲ ਚਲਾਣਾ ਕਰ ਗਏ ਤਾਂ ਲਾਹੌਰ ਦਰਬਾਰ ਤੇ ਅੰਗਰੇਜ਼ਾ ਦੇ ਵਫਾਦਾਰ ਧਿਆਨ ਸਿਹੁੰ, ਲਾਲਸਿਹੰ ਤੇ ਤੇਜਾ ਸਿਹੁੰ ਵਰਗੇ ਗਦਾਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਤੂਤੀ ਬੋਲਣ ਲੱਗੀ ਜਿਸ ਕਾਰਣ ਮੁੱਦਕੀ ਤੇ ਫੈਰੂਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਵਿਖੇ ਹੋਏ ਯੁੱਧਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਫਰੰਗੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਜਿੱਤ ਤੇ ਸਿੱਖ ਫੌਜਾਂ ਦੀ ਹਾਰ ਹੋਈ।

ਅਟਾਰੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਘਰ ਗਏ ਸਰਦਾਰ ਸ਼ਾਮ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਅਟਾਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਮਹਾਰਾਣੀ ਜਿੰਦ ਕੌਰ ਨੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਹਾਲਾਤਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਚਿੱਠੀ ਲਿਖੀ ਤੇ ਸਿੱਖ ਫੌਜਾਂ ਦੀ ਕਮਾਨ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕੀਤੀ। ਚਿੱਠੀ ਪੜ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਸਿੱਖ ਕੌਮ ਦਾ ਅਣਖੀਲਾ ਜਰਨੈਲ ਸਭਰਾਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਰਣ ਮੈਦਾਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਜੰਗੀ ਜੌਹਰ ਦਿਖਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਪਹੁੰਚੇ ਅਤੇ ਅੰਗਰੇਜ਼ਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਲੋਹੇ ਦੇ ਚਣੇ ਚਬਾਏ। ਐਨ ਮੌਕੇ ਤੇ ਗੱਦਾਰ ਤੇਜਾ ਸਿਹੁੰ ਤੇ ਲਾਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੰਗ ਦੇ ਮੈਦਾਨ ਵਿੱਚੋ ਭਜ ਗਏ ਅਤੇ ਗੋਰਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਹਾਰ ਜਿੱਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਦਲਣ ਲੱਗੀ । ਜਰਨੈਲ ਸਰਦਾਰ ਸ਼ਾਮ ਸਿੰਘ ਅਟਾਰੀ ਜੰਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਜੂਝਦਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੀਨੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੱਤ ਗੋਲੀਆਂ ਖਾ ਕੇ 10 ਫਰਵਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਹੀਦੀ ਪਾ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਇਤਿਹਾਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਪਣਾ ਨਾਂ ਸੁਨਹਿਰੀ ਅੱਖਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਿਖਵਾ ਗਿਆ । ਉਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਾਵਨ ਜੀਵਨ ਇਤਿਹਾਸ ਨਾਲ ਸਬੰਧਿਤ ਕਵਿਤਾ ਗੁਰਮੁੱਖ ਪਿਆਰਿਆਂ, ਮਿੱਤਰ ਪਿਆਰਿਆਂ, ਸਨੇਹੀਆਂ, ਪ੍ਰਸੰਸਕਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਕਵਿਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਪਾਠਕਾਂ ਸਨਮੁੱਖ ਭੇਟ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹਾਂ |

ਉਮੀਦ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਆਪ ਜੀ ਇਸ ਕਵਿਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਪਹਿਲੀਆਂ ਕਵਿਤਾਵਾਂ ਦੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਪੜ੍ਹੋਗੇ,ਸਰਦਾਰ ਸ਼ਾਮ ਸਿੰਘ ਅਟਾਰੀ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਪਾਵਨ ਜੀਵਨ ਇਤਿਹਾਸ ਤੋਂ ਜਾਣੂ ਹੋਵੋਗੇ, ਕਵਿਤਾ ਪਸੰਦ ਕਰੋਗੇ,ਅੱਗੇ ਦੀ ਅੱਗੇ ਭੇਜ ਕੇ ਸ਼ੇਅਰ ਕਰੋਗੇ ਅਤੇ ਦਾਸ ਨੂੰ ਅਸੀਸਾਂ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ ਕੇ ਹੌਸਲੇ ਬੁਲੰਦ ਕਰੋਗੇ |
